We’re here to help parents of children in Key Stage 1 (ages 5 to 7) with all aspects of their child’s learning and development. Whether you’re looking for help with homework, or want to find fun ways to practise handwriting, we’ve got you covered!
Our goal is to make the National Curriculum for England accessible by breaking it down so it’s clear and easy to understand. Take a look at our easy-to-follow guides and resources covering not just school subjects, but also everyday parenting challenges—like getting the most out of parents’ evenings or boosting your child’s reading comprehension.
What do you have for parents with children ages 5 - 7?
We’ve created resources tailored to your child’s age, all linked to the Key Stage 1 curriculum. These cover all subjects taught at this stage and aim to make learning (or revising) key skills enjoyable and engaging.
If your child is preparing for Key Stage 1 exams, including SATs, the phonics screening check, or the 7+, we’ve got resources to guide you through it. We partner with Twinkl Phonics to provide DfE-approved materials and create key skills booklets to help children revise important maths and English concepts.
Our blog offers lots of practical tips on different topics, skills, and events to keep you informed and supported.
We also have a dedicated ‘Subject Support for Parents’ section, where we explain key concepts your child is learning at school. This helps you feel confident when supporting their learning at home.
Need help with homework? We’ve got plenty of ideas to keep your child engaged while making it easier for you too!
We’re here to help you navigate those big transitions—like moving from early years into Key Stage 1, or from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2. We provide guidance and activities that help your child feel prepared and confident during these changes.
For busy families, we offer quick activities like activity cards, one-page mats, and a “week of workouts” (seven small activities for seven days) that slot easily into your daily routine. This way, your child can still enjoy a little learning every day. Each resource is designed specifically for children aged 5 to 7 and comes with a helpful guide for parents. This explains what the resource is, the skills it develops, and how to use it.
Where can I find resources for parents with children ages 5 - 7?
All our resources can be found in the Parents Hub. Just click on ‘Everything you need for children aged 5 - 11’ and these resources will be organised into categories for you.
To make the most of everything we offer, it’s a good idea to select “parent” as your role in the career options. While you can access all resources without doing this, it will help you see more content relevant to your needs. Plus, it adds a handy “parents” button to the main menu!
What membership do I need to download these resources?
To enjoy access to our Twinkl Parents resources, the Core membership is just what you need! Click here to choose a flexible monthly option, or if you prefer, make a one-off annual payment and enjoy peace of mind for the whole year. Whichever you pick, you'll have everything at your fingertips.
Some Twinkl Parent resources are part of the Ultimate membership and you can upgrade to this membership at any time.
