The Twinkl Spelling App allows you to set up a learner profile for a number of children. This allows children to work on their spellings at their own pace and allows you to customise tests and see individual’s progress.
When you first log in to the Twinkl Spelling App, you will see the options ‘Add Learner’ and ‘Adult Area’. Tap ‘Add Learner’ to create a profile. You can create up to 5 profiles in ‘Try!’ mode and up to 100 profiles if you have subscribed or if you are signed in using your Twinkl account details.
To add a learner, create an avatar then add a name and a colour for the background. This makes each profile easy to identify when children are using the app.
When you tap ‘Save’, you will see an option to choose either your own test settings for the learner or use the default settings on the app. If you tap ‘Edit’ you can decide on a number of settings including whether or not the learner is shown the word before they have to spell it, the keyboard layout displayed in a test, and use Twinkl’s audio when a word has been spelt correctly or record your own.
When you have made your choice, you will see your learner has appeared on the screen. Your learner can now tap on their profile to begin using the app to practise their spelling.
You can continue adding learners, one at a time, by tapping ‘Add Learners’.
You can edit the profiles on the app at any time by tapping on ‘Adult Area’. Follow the instructions on screen, swipe to the ‘Edit Profiles’ box and tap ‘Go’. Swipe across to find the profile you would like to edit and tap on the profile. You can edit their name and background colour. Tap the settings cog to edit their test settings or reset the personalised options to the default options. When you have finished using the settings cog, tap on the profile icon at the top right of the screen to return to the profile.
To delete a profile tap on the profile and tap the bin symbol at the top right of the screen.
