Twinkl Boost is our exciting collection of intervention resources, designed by teachers to support and lift children at every level.
These resources have been created by educators to help teachers support their students. Although these resources have been made for UK teachers, there may be activities and intervention resources to use as inspiration to support your own students.
What is included in Twinkl Boost?
The Twinkl Boost Team have created a wide variety of resources to help your students. These are as follows:
60-Second Reading Intervention
Aimed at children age 5 to 7, our 60-second reading intervention resources include texts which progress in difficulty across 10 levels with straightforward session planning to ensure that support staff feel confident while conducting the sessions.
Each session is designed to last approximately 10 to 15 minutes for a quick, fun and engaging way of boosting reading progression and addressing ‘reading gaps’ with students. Children read the text while you complete a running record. Along with questions for children to answer, the running record can provide insight into a child’s reading behaviour by analyzing the strategies they use throughout the text.
SPaG Samurai
These resources are designed to help children aged 7 to 11 who need an extra helping hand in their spelling, punctuation and grammar skills. Featuring a range of engaging, interactive tasks and games, teaching PowerPoints, full session planning and related home learning, the SPaG Samurai characters guide low-attaining pupils through all previously-covered SPaG objectives and key terminology in an accessible and fun way, making it perfect for 1:1 tuition and small group sessions.
Math Same Day Intervention
Available for children aged 5 to 11 years, the Math Same Day Intervention resources are designed to be used on the day an objective is taught, to address misconceptions that may have appeared during the lesson and help children who need a little extra support. Small-step planning resources show prior learning and break down each objective linking to resources on the site to help teach the objective. Click on the misconception that may arise to find the intervention pack to help children overcome the gap in their learning. Each pack includes a plan for adults leading the intervention, activities for children to complete and home activities to continue their learning.
