What is Worldview Explorers?
Worldview Explorers is an inclusive and diverse Religious Education (RE) curriculum designed for schools in England and flexible enough for international use. It’s created to support educators in teaching a broad and balanced view of religion and worldviews, helping children develop their own perspectives with respect and understanding.
Worldview Explorers is designed to make teaching RE engaging, structured, and confidence-boosting for educators, while encouraging meaningful discussions and critical thinking in students.
How can I use Worldview Explorers in my setting?
The curriculum can be used in two ways:
- As a complete whole-school RE curriculum – ideal for academies or schools that don’t need to follow their Local SACRE or agreed syllabus.
- Alongside an existing Local Authority (LA) syllabus or SACRE – offering additional resources and structured progression.
What resources does Worldview Explorers include?
The curriculum includes a Progression Map of skills, outlining a sequential learning pathway designed to enhance children' s understanding of diverse religions and worldview beliefs and practices. This helps children foster both academic and personal growth.
Each key stage (with key stage 2 being split into lower key stage 2 and upper key stage 2) includes 12 units, with a variety of resources to support effective teaching:
- Lesson Packs – 6 lessons per unit containing a presentation, lesson support document, and engaging activities.
- Knowledge Organisers – Summarising key concepts and learning points.
- Additional Resource Packs – Offering extra materials to enhance lessons.
- Quick Quizzes & Reflection Documents – Helping to assess understanding and encourage thoughtful learning.
- Interactive Resources – Bringing lessons to life in an engaging way.
For units covering multiple worldviews, an additional lesson is provided so you can tailor your teaching to your community’s needs.
Some units (6 per key stage) also include a Discussion Pack, which can be used to support assessment and consolidate subject knowledge.

The Worldview Explorers page has resources organised by key stage and unit, making it easy to find what you need. Click ‘Get started’ on a unit of your choice to find and download the lessons.
When are more units being added to the site?
The Worldview Explorers Team are working hard to get the next units of the scheme ready. The curriculum is being released in stages and will be fully completed by August 2025. Take a look at the curriculum map for the current planned time frame for each unit of work. Keep an eye on this page as resources will be added to the site as soon as they’re available.
