Many of our Twinkl classroom resources are available as booklets. Here's some guidance to help you print and assemble them easily.
Booklet designs
2-in-1
Some Twinkl resources can be printed double-sided, with smaller pages half of the paper size. This Create a Story Book Template is an example.
Print pages 1 and 2 double-sided and then fold in half to create a simple, short booklet for children to write in.
4-in-1
Many Twinkl booklets will be a 4-in-1 page design. They'll print single-sided, showing 4 smaller pages: 1 and 4 at the top (upside down) and 2 and 3 at the bottom (the right way up).
When printed and folded correctly, these booklets will have a front cover (1) and a back cover (4). Then, when opened, pages 2 and 3 will be on the left and right.
How to make a standard 4-in-1 booklet
This Information Book Template resource and this Printable Mini Book Template resource are examples of a 4-in-1 booklet.
1) Print single-sided.
2) Fold in half from top to bottom, with pages 1 and 4 at the back and pages 2 and 3 in front.
3) Fold in half left to right so that page 1 is at the front, with the fold on the left.
Single-sided
Some booklets are called a ‘single page version’ or they may be available as an ‘A4 version’ in the ‘See more versions’ area of the resource page. For example, the main resource, All About Me Activity Booklet and the ‘A4 version’ of KS2 All About Me Transition Booklet are both single-sided.
To save paper, you can change your print settings to be ‘2 sided’ or ‘double-sided’ and these booklets will print with the resource on each side.
You can then either manually staple them on the left (or right) side or, if available, change your printer settings to staple automatically.
Tips when printing
When printing, check the options in the print preview window. For best results:
· Use the default scaling (sometimes shown as ‘100%’).
· Print at 1 page per sheet.
· Select the correct paper size. It should match the version you downloaded from our site.
