Many of our resources can be downloaded as ZIP files because they contain multiple activities. Most modern Windows and Mac computers come with a built-in function to open ZIP files, so you won't need to install any extra software. Simply click on the downloaded resource to open the ZIP file. However, if you encounter any problems, please refer to the instructions below. How to extract ZIP files on a computer or laptop To download and extract individual resources, follow these steps: 1) Right-click on the 'Download' button below the resource image and select 'Save Link As...'. 2) Save the resource to your device. 3) Locate the downloaded ZIP file on your computer. 4) Right-click on it. 5) From the menu, select 'Extract All...'. Follow the on-screen instructions to choose a folder to extract the resources to. Once done, the resources will be ready for opening and printing. If you still cannot open the ZIP file after following the above steps, double-click on the downloaded ZIP file. Then, select the files you want to use, right-click and choose 'Copy'. Navigate to your desktop or 'Documents' folder, right-click on an empty area and click 'Paste'. How to open ZIP files on a phone or tablet ZIP files downloaded through the Twinkl app will automatically open when tapped, giving you access to the resources inside. However, some of our more advanced resources (e.g. Flipchart resources) are designed for use on standard computers and may not work properly on phones or tablets without the necessary software. If you download a ZIP file through your mobile device's web browser, you can find it in the 'Downloads' section of your 'Files' or 'Folders' app. Tap on the download and the ZIP file will be extracted, creating a folder with each part of the download. Encountering an error message? If you receive an error message stating that the filename is too long when trying to open the downloaded file, we suggest following the instructions above to extract the ZIP file contents. This will allow you to edit the file name and open the resources. If your browser is set to download the ZIP file to a restricted area on your work or home computer, you may encounter errors such as 'Destination file cannot be created'. To fix this, either move the ZIP file to your 'Desktop' or 'My Documents' folder before extracting it, or double-click the ZIP file, select all the files inside, right-click and choose 'Copy'.
