Our engaging, interactive PDF resources are designed to help everyone involved in teaching and learning. They take the user beyond basic on-screen reading to enhance their learning experience. We put together a quick, easy-to-follow guide to help you get started, and make sure you can get the most out of the resources.
To ensure all the features of our lovely interactive PDF resources work as intended, just follow this straightforward guidance.
Firstly, please open the file with a standalone PDF viewing app, rather than in your web browser.
If you are using a PC...
- Download the PDF file from the Twinkl website to your computer
- Locate the file in your file browser (by default this will be your ‘Downloads’ folder)
- Open the file in a PDF viewer (we recommend Adobe Reader - you can download the latest version here).
The interactive elements will now be accessible. Remember to save the file to keep any changes.

If you are using an iPhone or iPad...
- Download the PDF file from the Twinkl website to your device
- Locate the file in your downloaded files and tap to open with the default PDF viewer.
The interactive elements will now be accessible. Remember to save the file to keep any changes.

To further enhance these exciting resources and target them to individual learners, you can also open the PDF in the Apple Books app. This includes markup tools to write on top of the non-interactive areas of the PDF.
To do this:
- In the PDF viewer tap the share button (the upward arrow within a square) and then tap ‘Copy to Books’.
- In the library tab of the Books app, locate the PDF and tap to open.
- Tap again to see the action buttons.
- Tap the markup button to draw and write on top of your PDF.
If you are using an android device...
- Download the PDF file from the Twinkl website to your device
- Download the Adobe Acrobat app from the Google Play Store (you will need to allow it to access phone files)
- Locate the PDF file in your downloaded files, tap to open and select Adobe Acrobat when prompted.
The interactive elements will now be accessible. Remember to save the file to keep any changes.

If you are using a Mac with Google Chrome...
- Download the PDF file from the Twinkl website to your computer
- Locate the file in your file browser
- Open the file in the default Mac PDF viewer ‘Preview’.=

If you are using a Mac with Safari...
- Download the PDF file from the Twinkl website to your computer
- Locate the file in your file browser (by default this will be your ‘Downloads’ folder);
- Open the file in the default Mac PDF viewer ‘Preview’.
The interactive elements will now be accessible. Remember to save the file to keep any changes.
